Conner Convo.

My conversation is between George from Of Mice and Men,and Willy from Death of a Salesman. They will be dicussing what it means to be a true family.

George: Howdy
Willy: how you doing George?
George: swell, how you know my name?
Willy: I read all about you in your book Of Mice and Men.
George: Oh really, what did you think?
Willy: Well I thought you kind of took advantage of your big friend Lennie.
George: how the hell did you get that impression? You know he ain’t to bright I had to treat him like I done so, he wouldn’t gets in no trouble.
Willy: I know he wasn’t bright, but me being a salesman I know when people are getting taken advantage of.
George: you don’t know notin me and him was like family always having each others back.
Willy: You don’t know what family is son. I’ve got a real family, and I provide for them as well as myself.
George: Really? I remember you; you the man from Death of a Salesman. You’d be one to talk, having to take money from neighbors to support your family, and as far as providing goes you got fired from your job. Your boys don’t care about you anymore, and can’t stand to be with you; some family you got.
Willy: You know what you’re right; I have been a terrible father to my boys and husband to my wife. It’s just so hard for me to provide for them like I used to, and getting fired doesn’t help me at all.
George: You just need to relax and realize what you got. Your sons and wife love ya still you just needs to step back and stop being so darn stubborn.
Willy: how do I do that?
George: for one you can take that job from your neighbor and stop being darn proud. No one will care where your money comes from as long as you’re making some.
Willy: alright
George: and two you can talk to your son Biff about what happened that many years ago. That is where you lost him, and he in turn lost his hopes and dreams that you filled him up with.
Willy: yes, I really messed up. After that the whole family began to come unraveled.
George: The only way a family can exist in complete honesty.
Willy: I haven’t tried much of that ever sense I stopped talking to Biff.
George: There’s always time to start.
Willy: Ya I guess you’re right.
Willy: how can you and Lennie be a family then you’re not even related.
George: Willy, Willy, Willy you have a lot to learn on what it means to be a true family.
Willy: Oh do I?
George: Family isn’t only something your born into.
Willy: Ya it kind of is, family is people that are related by blood.
George: So, have you ever had a pet?
Willy: well of course hasn’t almost everyone?
George: did you count them as part of your family?
Willy: Well…. That’s different.
George: It’s the same as me and Lennie, though we weren’t blood related doesn’t mean I don’t care about him and worry bout him.
Willy: I never thought about family like that. When you break it down family is nothing more than a bunch of friends who care about each other more than anything else.
George: Exactly Willy.
Willy: wow, thanks a lot George
George: no problem Willy
Willy: I’m going to go fix my life right now
George: good luck.
